Biography
I was born in Hanover, N.H. October 13, 1956, and grew up in Woodstock, Vt. I attended schools in Woodstock, and graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, MA. in 1974. I am married, with two children.
Legal Experience
Upon graduation from Vermont Law School in 1981, I spent a year as law clerk to several district and superior court judges in Rutland. Since 1982, I have practiced law in Rutland with Bob Pratt, concentrating my practice in real estate and commercial transactions, representation of lenders and borrowers, and appellate work. Often, I have worked as local counsel on Vermont transactions, coordinating with outside firms or in-house counsel. I have represented condominium developers and associations. I am an agent for First American Title Insurance Company, and have handled title claims on behalf of, and against, title companies. I am also certified to mediate foreclosure cases under the federal Home Affordability Modification Program (“HAMP”).
Personal
My pastimes include gardening and restoring antique cars and vintage radio equipment. I am a ski instructor in the Junior Instructional Ski Program at Bromley ski area.
Community Involvement
For 30 years I served as a commissioner on the Rutland Regional and Town of Ira Planning Commissions.
