Biography

I was born in Schenectady, New York in 1947. I graduated from Linton High School and the State University of New York, College at Cortland, where I received the degree of Bachelor of Science in Education in 1969. I then taught physical education and coached women’s sports for fifteen years at the Shenendehowa Central School in Clifton Park, New York.

I was captured by the lure of Vermont and moved to Middletown Springs in 1984. I began working for the Rutland County Sheriff’s Department and spent the next nineteen years in a variety of capacities including court work, patrol work and administration. I started Vermont’s first TRIAD program, which targets senior citizens for direct law enforcement and quality of life services and programs.

Legal Experience

I was invited to join a law firm in Middlebury in 1999 as a law clerk and I then entered the Four Year Law Office Study Program. I “read law” in the Middlebury law office, at the Rutland County State’s Attorney’s Office and finished my course of study with this law firm. I was admitted to practice in Vermont in November of 2004 and joined this firm as an associate at that time. I have worked in the areas of criminal law and general civil practice.

After six years of active practice, I became Of Counsel.

Personal

I spend much of my time satisfying my passion for traveling.
